cross country 2017

Cross country day is here. I’m running my hardest.  my lungs are screaming for air i’m feeling like a bomb about to explode.
My dad and friends are cheering me on.
The towering trees are swaying in the wind.
I can smell the sizzling sausages by the finish line.

The oozy mud is rushing down my legs and more sploshing on.
The corn stumps are CRACKING!! under my feet, the wind is smashing against my face.
The plane is right in front of me.
My ruru t-shirt is rapidly waving in the wind.

The grass looks like it is waving and cheering me onhatu hatu hatu your so amazing”  and that gives me a little boost the marshall is showing me the way and i start boosting even more.

That day was history but next year is a mystery.

Our sign by the awa.

Our whole school took time to visit our signs by the awa. We said karakia, sang waiata, and shared mihi. We hope this can help make a difference to how people care for our environment.

Alma Story

Alma.
There was a girl skipping down the cold snowy concrete path.
She saw a strange board with lots of names on it so she wrote her name Alma.
She turned around to see a doll, she goes over, she peaked through the window and saw the doll was herself. She looked down to have a look at her clothes, then she looked back up to where her identical doll was.

When she looked back up her identical doll wasn’t there anymore. She peered through the window to see where her identical doll was.
She tried to open the door. She pull and pull and pull but it didn’t open.
She got angry and threw a snowball at the door.
She walked away angrily.
Suddenly the door creaked open, she heard it, she ran over and went inside.
She saw the doll and ran up to it suddenly she trips over a doll that is riding a bike she stands it up. The doll rides around her then heads for the door but before the doll could get out the door shuts.
She looks back up and sees her doll is gone again. She looks around. Then she sees her doll on the shelf, she ran over and saw it was to high.

She started to climb up the shelf, she pull off her glove and touch the dolls nose in a flash she became the doll looking through plastic eyes, she witnesses a new doll emerge from the shop and present itself at the vintage window. She wonders, will I ever get out?
